With a growing interest in knowing more about where we live and our ”roots”, this new website brings together everything about where you live for the first time.

And there is an astonishing amount of material about a huge number of places in the county. There are almost 2,000 titles about Norfolk alone, for example, with 118 individual places in the county having a title associated with them.

The website has been set up by bookseller, Martin Blackwell and his son Stephen. At their bookshop in Gt. Yarmouth they found a terrific appetite for local interest books.

When they researched the market they found that there is no single source of books based on geography. It has been a mammoth, ongoing task to go through almost 1.8 million titles and identify those with a local association.

Starting the new national website with Norfolk, Martin is keen for people to point out their errors and omissions. “We are bound to have made mistakes and missed off some important titles”, he said. They are keen to hear about books published by individuals about their place or their family, which are not yet listed.
